Remember, the doctoral degrees offered by these educational institutes in the field of social work are intended for experienced practitioners seeking to further their careers through more in-depth training in research and policy analysis. Social work practitioners who are looking to move into research and teaching often choose this program. However, some students enter the program with the goal of continuing in leadership roles in either agency-based or self-employed social work practices. Often times these individuals will still teach part-time in a school or a department of social work while collaborating on research with their academic colleagues.

The DSW school program offers exciting advancements, and you can take advantage of the program at many colleges and universities throughout the United States.

The classroom setting is often not enough for students to learn all of the subject material they need to know in order to pass tests and advance to harder classes. Tutoring is when students receive professional academic guidance or instruction, and it is a way for students to improve knowledge or skills far more rapidly than in a classroom setting. Tutoring is often beneficial to homeschooled students, as well. Students have several options to supplement their education outside the classroom, including in-home tutoring, academic coaching, and online tutoring. Solution assistance is another option in the field of math tutoring. This method of checking the accuracy of answers is particularly beneficial to students who live in remote areas, as is online tutoring.

Many students improve their test scores and grades by using online tutoring. Online tutoring companies use state of the art technology to provide parents and students with the ability to work with trained academic instructors from the convenience of home. Tutors can help students work through problems, or they can let students work on their own and then review their answers and provide assistance when students have questions. Online tutors, like other academics assistance providers, often focus on a specific educational subject or skill, such as math or science.

Online tutors are often privately hired and paid by the student or the student’s family. There are also government programs, such as Supplemental Educational Services, which provide free academic tutoring to qualifying students. As part of the No Child Left Behind Act, low income families can enroll their children in Supplemental Educational Services if their school has been designated by the state to be in need of improvement for at least three years. Organizations that provide Supplemental Educational Services to students are identified and approved by each states Department of Education.

Most often, tutoring relates to an academic subject or test preparation when students need assistance in a specific course or subject that they are taking. Tutoring may be used for remedial students or others requiring special attention. In many cases, tutoring is also used to provide more advanced material to especially capable and highly motivated students. Whatever the students needs may be, tutoring and parental involvement can supplement classroom learning and help any student achieve academic success and reach their potential in life.

Many men’s and women’s high school volleyball players dream of someday playing for a university. And for many a college volleyball scholarship is an integral part of this dream. A volleyball scholarship is, after all, an ideal way to get your education paid for while playing a sport you love.

Unfortunately, there is not an abundance of scholarships out there waiting go be grabbed: college volleyball, like all collegiate sports, is a competitive industry with far more candidates than scholarships or positions. This leaves many players wondering about their odds: exactly how many volleyball scholarships are available each year?

The amount of volleyball scholarships available varies from division to division, as well as gender to gender. The completeness of the scholarship can also vary: there are both full and partial scholarships available. Here’s a basic breakdown:

NCAA Division 1, Division II, and Division III for Women’s College Volleyball

College volleyball scholarships are available for women in the first two divisions. Division I offers twelve full ride scholarships per team. You can figure out the exact number by multiplying twelve by the number of Division 1 volleyball teams. Per the NCAA regulations, these scholarships must be delivered in full to each athlete. In other words, one full scholarships can not be divided into partials and awarded to several different players.

A volleyball scholarship from Division II differs slightly. In Division II, eight full ride scholarships are available per team. Unlike Division I, the NCAA rules allow Division II scholarships to be broken up into partials and divided among many players. The way each volleyball scholarship is divvied up is the coaches decision. Depending on this division (i.e., whether a scholarship is divided into halves or thirds) dictates the amount available on any given year.

Technically, there are no Division III athletic scholarships available for volleyball players. Still, students hoping to play for a Division III school are eligible for both financial aid and academic scholarships.

NCAA Division 1, Division II, and Division III for Men’s College Volleyball

Each Division I and Division II school gets four and a half volleyball scholarships per team. Each of these scholarships can be divvied up and awarded to athletes per the coach’s desire. The coaches’ decisions control the amount of scholarships available on any given year.

Just as with women-s volleyball, there are no Division III athletic scholarships available for volleyball. Still, students hoping to play for a Division III school are eligible for both financial AID and academic scholarships.

In a sport as competitive as volleyball it’s advisable for student athletes to focus on their academics as well as their athleticism so that they have the best chance of being eligible for both athletic and academic scholarships.

Homeschooling can be an expensive choice for parents. There are many expenditures that need to be taken into account and the financial burden can be heavy particularly if only one parent is working.

However, many families have chosen homeschooling and found the homeschooling experience to be rewarding and fruitful.

Though homeschooling is expensive, there are some tips that will help you to reduce the cost of homeschooling and help ease your financial problems.

    1. Learning materials

You can obtain your child’s textbooks and other learning materials easily without necessarily buying them. You can always borrow them from the library. Your local schools may be able to lend them or sell them to you at a cheap price and you can go online and download the educational materials and print it out yourself.

Visit the homeschooling forums online and just ask where you can ask free or cheap learning materials. You’ll be sure to find some tips.

    2. Educational Field Trips

Educational trips can mean visits to the local zoo or science center. You can teach your child about animals and plants in your local garden or the local garden community.

You could teach history by visiting historical sites. You could teach culture by visiting other cultural sites or watching plays etc. All these are usually free or for a cheap price.

    3. Be part of a community

There should be many local homeschooling communities in your local neighbourhood. By joining these homeschooling communities, you can pool their resources and shared it among the members.

For example, a homeschooling community can approach the local school and ask for donations for used textbooks, writing materials and other items such as whiteboards, desks and chairs etc.

Or the homeschooling community can pool their financial resources together and negotiate with a publisher for cheaper prices. Since you have more bargaining power as a community rather than an individual, you stand a greater chance of successfully negotiating a deal with the publisher.

If you do not have a homeschooling community in your local area, try online homeschooling communities and forums. They offer support and guidance and often free homeschooling resources are available

I hope I have given you some ideas on how to save money when homeschooling. As long as you are creative, you can find more ways to reduce the cost of homeschooling.

Teaching, whether it is private tuition or public school teaching, is a highly respectable and important profession worldwide. Educators play a vital role in teaching the next generation of people and advertently creating an advanced society. This explains the relatively high salaries educators earn globally. In Australia, a beginner teacher’s salary is roughly US$41,109, while the average beginner teachers salary in the United Kingdom is US$34,488. During a recent admission talk by the National Institute of Education in Singapore, the speaker mentioned that the top income earners in Switzerland, South Korea and Singapore are also teachers.

Therefore, educators in Singapore are highly responsible in moulding students futures. However, there is a stark contrast in the degree of responsibility between a private tutor and a MOE school teacher. While a private tutor focuses only on the subject he teaches, a public school teacher finds himself caught up with other duties such as handling CCA, meeting expectations of the school and handling the well-being of students while projecting a professional image simultaneously.

Yet the irony lies in the fact that despite having a more hectic work schedule than a private tutor, some claim that school teachers are not doing enough. For instance, some suspect that it is precisely because junior college teachers are too busy with other tasks that they fail to deliver a good job in providing H2 Mathematics tuition and H2 Physics tuition. As such, the expectations of a top tutor have often been modelled after private tutors instead, who may be more specialized and knowledgeable in these subjects.

Many families in Singapore spend hundreds monthly to register and engage their children for private H2 Mathematics tuition and H2 Physics tuition, some of which provide more innovative methods for students to excel. In reality though, the meagre 2 hours spent weekly with the tutor can only be more effective than the many hours in school if the students themselves fully utilize the time for enrichment rather than merely repeating the concepts which have been taught in schools.

Nevertheless, the status of school teachers must never be relegated to the backseat as they provide the benchmark for private tutors and students alike. While it is essential that educators maintain their role as top tutors as far as possible, students should not rely and expect to be spoon fed by them, but instead take the initiative to learn and improve their grades.

Many of the homeschooling parents have found that with time, their homeschooling teenagers do not follow the values inculcated in them during their homeschooling days. They dont even respect their parents values once they enter teenage. Teenage rebellion has become commonplace, and our culture has responded by expecting less and less of teenagers. It is also seen that many teenagers go against their parents wishes to fulfill their own dreams and even get involved with drugs, alcohol, and immorality. They no longer believe in God and hence start living a life of their own judgments.

Many parents believe that they can prevent their children from such rebellion because they feel confident of their parenting approach. There are some critical contributing factors that have led to the destruction of mind of teenage children because of their family-minded parents. Some of these are as below:

Parents have self-centered dreams where their concern for themselves ends up overshadowing love for their children. One of the reasons parents homeschool is because they want to accomplish something good in their children. Success in homeschooling requires that academic, moral, and spiritual goals be set.

Making family as the idol results in turning it as a measurement of success. Being an idol requires sacrifice, but normally parents end up sacrificing relationship with their children for the idol of the family.

Parents tend to follow what other families are teaching their children and try to impose those notes on their children. They are disappointed when they compare their kids with the outside forms and merely find any expression of learning in their children.

Many parents have designed their personal standards and believe that it should be followed by everyone else in the family. Many families are marked by pride and judgment and its consequences leave a negative impact on the children as they too are made to judge things out of pride thereby filtering their perceptions to view things.

Parents tend to become authoritative and start molding their kids in the direction where they can become more disciplined, sheltered and behavior oriented. In doing so, parents give their child to maintain high standards for their outside so that their inside is shaped as anticipated. This result in dominating style of parenting that damages the relationship and hinders the ability to truly influence their values.

Over control is also associated with over reliance upon sheltering. Over sheltering your child might be harmful as your children may feel abandoned and lonely since they are protected from children with like-minded families, from secular beliefs and so on. Protecting from temptations and corrupting influences is part of raising children. Every parent shelters to one degree or another. But this line should be drawn according to what actually is required for the child and not what a parent seek for the betterment of their child.

Although kids may appear to be jumping and laughing all day, they also face the threat of stress. This can come from many sources be it family issues, bullying issues or even education system. An examination-oriented education system can bring unneeded stress with improper implementation.

Grades are all that matters in an examination-oriented education system. Get a high grade and you get the affection from the teachers while other students gawk at you in awe. Low grades invite low-self esteem and isolation. This is because the students are bound to be highly competitive and subconsciously, they create caste among their friends. Those who have low grades are seen as unworthy to fit into their circle of friends.

Students are forced to know and learn everything their study by heart in order to get good grades during examination. This can be easy for some while it can be very difficult for others, especially those who are hands-on type of people. Inability to perform may only result in embarrassment although being shunned by other friends will bring harsher impact to the students’ lives.

A student will have to invest a lot of his or her time if a student wants to excel in studies. They will lose their childhood in the process, missing the chance to mix around with their peers. This can hamper their social skills learning skill, a skill that is bound to be important throughout their lives.

Once the aim is set to get higher grades in tests, other activities will have to be sacrificed. Teachers are bound to cut extra-curricular activities such as sports and also discourage creative activities so that students can study longer. This should not happen because the students have worked hard in the class and studying so they should be allowed to take part in such activities as an outlet to release stress. How can they reduce stress if they have to pore over a book day and night?

Examination-oriented education system may have a noble aim. However, the implementation should be done carefully so it will not affect the students. Everyone should understand that every individual is unique; some may excel academically while others can rely on hands-on expertise.
